CONGRESS PEOPLE NEED TO LOSE THEIR INDEX FINGERS

Well, maybe not have them cut off, but perhaps at least taped to the palm of their hand so it becomes unusable and unable to point.  The current  point and blame  game on key issues like the economy, jobs, government spending, regulatory reform,  banking, tax fairness, energy development, housing, health care, education to name a few, solves none of them. They all need leadership, objective thinking, compromise and commitment and not the pointed index finger to achieve a thumbs up.  Isn't that really what our evolved aristocracy was elected to do?
If you think about it, there is another reason for taping down that index finger. In that position and can't be inserted into mouth to moisturize and then be extended up in the air to determine what way the wind is blowing.  That's something that most of those in the Congressional aristocracy do before they even begin to give thought to or research an issue.  I have been around too long and  am not so naive to recognize that the number one objective of someone elected is to be re-elected. And, yes, the wind of the constituency is important to that end.  However, wouldn't it be nice if those elected would attempt to change the way the wind might initially be blowing  to another direction based on their own objective and educated assessment of what needs to be done to achieve the best outcome not just for their constituents but for the whole nation?  Is this too much to ask?

Finally, think about it.  With the arms extended in front and the palms held facing one another, there is only one way the index finger points.  That's right, right back to oneself.  This not only applies to those who may be in the Congressional aristocracy, but to you and me, the voters, who put the aristocracy in place, compensate them and then tolerate procrastination,  sleazy behavior, and corruption when identified.  Maybe its time for us all to get the point of that taped index finger.  That's my view, what do you think?

  1. Be careful what you ask for. The politicians will tape their pinky and ring fingers too. After all, that middle finger being extended is what they normally show us anyway.
